Parkinson’s disease (with RBD, with gait and balance troubles, without any of those) and PSP (with ocular supranuclear palsy, axial parkinsonism unresponsive to L-Dopa and postural instability and falls) will be compared to age-matched normal controls. Patients will be selected from the Movement Disorders clinic (M Vidailhet, D Grabli, E Roze) according to the UK Parkinson’s disease brain bank criteria (Parkinson) or the Litvan’s NINDS criteria (PSP).
Clinical evaluation will be performed in the Clinical Investigation Centre Pitié-Salpêtrière, Paris including quantification of parkinsonian symptoms severity (UPDRS), cognitive functions, characterization of RBD (questionnaire and polysomnography, Dr I Arnulf), electrophysiological quantification of gait and balance parameters (Dr ML Welter, Dr C Ewenczyk). PSP patients will have eye movement recordings (EMR) All patients will have genetic tests.
